Martin has been a pastor on both U. S. coasts and in Canada, evangelist, assistant communication director for Voice of Prophecy radio broadcast, script writer for It Is Written telecast and assistant to its founding director/speaker George Vandeman. General Conference leaders called him from the Adventist Media Center to serve at SDA world headquarters as associate editor of Ministry magazine. As a member of the General Conference Ministerial Association, Martin was one of seven staff members who did seminars for Adventist pastors everywhere. Martin has been a member of the General Conference Executive Committee, the governing body of the world church.
Currently Martin is an editor and departmental director serving Adventists in the nine-state region of Mid-America. He just finished his Doctor of Ministry degree studying attrition of Adventist clergy children. Because of his research he was invited to join the 180 Symposium, a council of SDA young adult leaders and researchers. Weber has authored 21 books and scores of articles and editorials, most of them “ghost-written” for several worldwide Adventist leaders. His latest book was just released by Pacific Press, God Was There: True Stories of a Police Chaplain. It relates experiences from his law enforcement chaplaincy to the SDA teaching of the sanctuary and investigative judgment.
