Don’t Adventists have their own Bible called the Clear Word?

The Clear Word is not a Bible—although its first edition mistakenly bore that label, and it has been advertised in confusing ways by the publisher. Clear Word (CW) is not endorsed by leading Adventist theologians and church administrators. CW is just one man’s commentary—and even he says it shouldn’t be used as a Bible. Although CW enjoys popularity among lay people, no Adventist pastor that we know of uses it in evangelistic Bible studies.

We wish it never would have been published. When Martin was at the General Conference, he joined others of the Ministerial Association in lamenting its existence. Adventists don’t need CW, since all our teachings come from the same Bible other Evangelicals use.

Thanks for your honesty towards this book that is confusing a lot of Adventists, let alone other Christians. Perhaps the publishers should look at the harm it is doing rather than the money they are making and pull it from the shelves.
